Republicon fiscal lies + Media Gullibility = Total financial BS (R)
Paul Krugman at Truthout:

"I was going to be snarky, but this requires seriousness: the gullibility of much of the media establishment in the United States regarding this issue is ridiculous. Their inability to spot the hollowness of Republican claims to fiscal responsibility amounts to journalistic malpractice.

"Republicans have been the party of fiscal irresponsibility since the 1980s. As if to confirm that unfunded tax cuts had become part of the party’s D.N.A., President George W. Bush’s administration convinced Congress to pass the first round of cuts in 2001."

1. "Republicans have been the party of fiscal irresponsibility since the 1980s"

Thank you, thank you, thank you - The Krugster -- finally somebody saying it loud and clear.

Republicons are not 'conservatives' in any way, shape, or form. They are radical borrow-and-squander corporate socialist welfare suckups. The word 'conservative' is just part of the Republicon disguise.

Like just about every thing else they claim, it is the opposite of RepubliReality....

2. The media aren't stupid. They're just doing their job,
which happens to be that of propagandizing the masses with the Republican/corporate message.

3. I call it culpability, not gullibility. They know exactly what they do!

7. Unfortunately, as always.
I know many liberals don't like the Fairness Doctrine but anyone have any other ideas on how to fight the media monopoly?

8. Because this thread has an Icy Point of Truth

and because I am so weary of the obvious BS when republicons 'claim' to be fiscally (or morally) 'conservative...it merits a Friday morning ICICLE kick.
