Man sues Playboy after he paid to get into iconic mansion - while women walked in for free
Man sues Playboy after he paid to get into iconic mansion - while women walked in for free

A guest at a recent Playboy mansion benefit was shocked to learn that the place favours attractive women, and he’s suing for equal treatment.

Steve Frye claims he paid $1,000 to attend the Leather Meets Lace party, but watched while scantily-clad women got in for free.

Frye claims there's a double standard at the mansion, and that allowing women easy entry 'promotes harmful, negative stereotypes.'

The suit, filed in California Central Court, also claims that Playboy is in violation of state’s Gender Tax Repeal Act of 1995.

1. Isn't that
Hef's private residence? If you want to ogle nekkid women and half nekkid women in the guy's house - you have to pay. This is a stupid lawsuit. Of COURSE Hef favors attractive women!

2. well the scantilly clad women are the draw
What a Moron!

They also don't let fat or unattractive women in free. That would be a more legitimate lawsuit I would think.

21. Can't really make light of this. You're exactly right.
If single men were admitted for free, the Playboy club party would become nothing but a thousand creepy old fat guys hanging out to ogle the women. Sorry, it's just the truth. That is the reason why bars hold "Ladies Night," too. You let the women in for free, and a shitload of men will pay to come in, thinking they actually stand a chance in hell of taking one of them home.

It's sad, sure. But it sure isn't shocking. The douchebag should just skulk home and shut the hell up. He is an idiot.

3. Like anyone would pay to get in to see HIM lounging around the hot tub?
They don't like old people either...unless your name is Hef.

You know what will happen, here?

They'll set up a separate area where the women have to pay to see guys lounging around in a hot tub....and it will be populated by pretty much no one. Oh well, someone will get a job out of it, as a gatekeeper for a gate no one wants to use.

6. Wow...
He's at the Playboy mansion, but he thinks it's the hot women getting in for free which promotes 'harmful, negative stereotypes.'

It's *almost* hard to believe someone could be that stupid. But no, consider... yeah... no it really isn't. At all.

9. If they charged everyone he would pay far less than $1,000
In fact, they might have to pay him to show up because they wouldn't have the reason he was willing to pay $1,000. Attractive, scantily clad women.

13. He kind of missed the point of the Playboy business model.
Guys pay money to see boobies. If you consider that exploitive, then don't pay.

The women who got in free are the product being sold.

20. Kind of like Vegas
Women get in to the hottest night clubs for free while guys have to pay upwards to $100. I was in Vegas back in May, and the bouncers would not even let my buddy and I into Marque unless we had women with us. We had to find two nice young ladies who said they were with us to let us on line. Alas, that is just the price of being around pretty women. Actually, I think it all balances out because the girls spend a lot of money on getting themselves ready compared to the average dude.
