Sen. John McCain says daughter Meghan has gone to the "dark side."
Edited on Mon Nov-28-11 06:40 PM by monmouth
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) weighed in Monday on his daughter Meghan's recent career move, joking that her decision to join MSNBC as a contributor meant that she'd gone to the "dark side."

"She went over to the dark side I guess," McCain told Don Imus on the Fox Business Network, which is presumably Force-friendly. "I am very proud of her. She's feisty. Being over there she is going to have to have quite a bit of that ... I'm sure she will fight for the things she and I believe in over there and I wish her every success."

The younger McCain joined MSNBC earlier this month and has since weighed in on the state of the GOP primary and Republican presidential candidates. She's announced that she supports former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, and has publicly butted heads with House speaker Newt Gingrich.

McCain isn't the only political progeny exploring a career in the media world. Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton also joined the NBC family this month, signing on as a full-time special correspondent for NBC News.

7. I wonder if Rachel helped her get this gig. I have no problem with her
but between McCain, Chelsea, Luke, Chris Wallace and the Bush girls, I mean, c'mon.

5. You know he said it with a smile, though.
One corporate news entity is as good or bad as another, by and large. MSNBC appeals to those who lean left, while FAUX appeals to the righties and kooks. The people who don't give a shit watch CNN--and everyone complains about them.

Jenna Bush signed a contract to be an occasional contributor to the TODAY show, as well, I think...

6. Actually I think Megan McCain is the best face for the future of the Republican party.
Her style of conservative politics could appeal to the younger generation.

9. But she supports Romney which should be appalling to the
younger generation. The GOP shouldn't be appealing to many young people.

10. There is no GOP candidate appealing to any young person with any sense.
I guess to Megan, Romney is it by default.
