Oh, please do. They want the eyes of the world to see that teaparty folks don't back down. I would like the world to see them in action also. Please have the rally.

Tea Party looks at organizing pre-RNC rally

TAMPA — There's another big rally being discussed for the eve of the Republican National Convention, this one involving the tea party and potential appearances by former GOP presidential candidates Michele Bachmann and Herman Cain.

..."When the eyes of the world focus on Tampa, let the first thing they see be the Tea Party steadfastly refusing to let ourselves be defined by anything but the agenda that the American people overwhelmingly supported in 2010," the organizers' message says.

"If we turn out tens of thousands, our movement will survive," it concludes. "If we flop it will be all the establishment/media needs to ban us to political obscurity. We must rise above our disagreements and rivalries for the good of the movement at Unity Rally 2012."

7. Did you know that guns are not banned in the area?

Last I heard. I hope to goodness they changed that, but I can't find anything about it. They are picky about other security, but handguns won't be bannned. No waterguns, but handguns are fine and dandy.

5. Disgusting is right. I think that is like shouting fire in a crowded theater, given

today's climate and the closing of so many mental institutions and halfway houses.

Come to think of it, the Supreme Court term "shouting fire in a crowded theater" took on a whole new meaning this past week, didn't it?

I did not have that in mind when I first started to type this post. I had just wanted to explain why a First Amendment advocate would happily outlaw those shirts.
