5. I think he made a great overall point

Fox News in particular dumbs everything down for their average viewer. Even though they recently dug up a former Sky News Brit to sound inellectual, the format reads from the same Cro-Magnon Tea Party script. Olbermann was known for his intelligent missives that spoke on a level for the educated who were seeking clarification of topical items, and offered his audience no definition of the "big words" he used.

As a contrast, O'Reilly had a segment at the end of his show that was akin to the "Reader's Digest Word Wealth" where he gave a word like "pithy", and explained the meaning to his base audience. He would then use it in a sentence... over and over in typical grade school rote. The difference was like comparing The Sunday NYT crossword to a "Highlights Magazine" word search.

Maher was right in pointing out that public ignorance that held the moniker literally was not an excuse to end "Worst Persons". It was sad when he felt he had to add (Not Really).

If you're trying to suggest that what comes from Fox News is somehow sub- or pre-human, Cro-Magnon is the wrong term.

They were, in fact, among the first early modern humans (homo sapiens sapiens) of the type responsible for the spectacular cave art of Lascaux, Altamira, and Chauvet, among others.
