Tuesday January 25th: Opposing war and occupation is not a crime...
Edited on Sun Jan-23-11 06:18 PM by Earth_First
In September 2010 the FBI, The Joint Terrorism Task Force, SWAT teams from various state and local law enforcement agencies conducted pre-dawn raids in Minnesota and Illinois. Subpoenas were served to 14 individuals with membership in anti war and solidarity organizations which the government has claimed to be FTO (Foreign Terrorist Organizations).

On Tuesday, January 25th nine anti war activists and solidarity activists are scheduled to appear for further subpoenas that were served in December 2010.

Organizations across the country are asking that solidarity events be held to take action against the repressive actions against anti war activists at Federal Buildings and FBI offices across the country and around the world.

This is hardly the change that we expected when we elected the party whose campaign platform was in fact "change."

Join in solidarity this Tuesday, January 25

1. He has a silver tongue and we all fell for it.
We need to remember that politicians are politicians, and they all lie. He ran on the platform "Chane we can believe in." It made for a nice catch phrase, and it appealed to all of us who were pissed with Bush. We should've known that's all it was--a catch phrase. It had no meaning. We were all duped.

2. ok, I'm sure I'll get a raft of shit for this but....
"In September 2010 the FBI, The Joint Terrorism Task Force, SWAT teams from various state and local law enforcement agencies conducted pre-dawn raids in Minnesota and Illinois. Arrests and subpeonas were served to 14 individuals with membership in anti war and solidarity organizations which the government has claimed to be FTO (Foreign Terrorist Organizations)."

The article you reference says nothing about anyone being arrested, it says they were served subpoenas and had their homes searched with warrants for evidence they were supporting terrorist organizations. Your other link says the same thing... so... no arrests for opposing the war? No subpoenas for opposing the war? It sure seems it is because they are suspected of aiding terrorist organizations to me... no?

Did they do it? They claim they did not and I see no evidence presented by the govt to show they did so I believe them. Personally, I would like to know more... Some judge granted the warrants and supeonas... Why? Based on what evidence? This seems to be unknown.
