I'm Sad.
I'm sad that justice no longer exists in America.

I'm sad that so many Americans just don't "get it." (And never will.)

I'm sad that our country has become the world's largest aggressor.

I'm sad that America won't turn over our war criminals to the Hague.

I'm sad that most Americans are clueless that we are harboring war criminals.

I'm sad that American fanatics are drowning out reasonable discourse in our country.

I'm sad that crazy people on radio and TV are taken seriously.

I'm sad that sane Americans are so silent about the current sickness of our country.

I'm sad that most are silent while our jobs disappear.

I'm sad that far too many believe we're doing just fine.

I'm sad that we are quietly marching to our own destruction.

And I'm so sad that we have come to this horrible place.

1. I'm sad,too. especially for this:
I'm sad that so many Americans just don't "get it." (And never will.)

I want to give up and shut up a lot. There will be violence as people suffer more, unsure of where to direct their anger.
people naively believe what they are told.
those who speak otherwise (activists like us) are the criminals in their mind's eye.

i just can't bring myself to shut up.
not yet.

5. Yes, I'm also angry. And my anger will lead me to do -- what?
Battle the powers that be? Do anything besides use words as my weapon of choice?

Perhaps you have a way of channeling your anger into doing something more effective than the written word. If so, please clue me in.

I know you've heard that "The word is more powerful than the sword." It sounds like bullshit, but over time, -- perhaps a long time, -- it holds to be true. Check out a bit of history. Ideas last -- conquerers don't.

12. And what?

Sit in our little bit of paradise and wait for global capitalism to come for us? It will, if unchecked, there's no place to hide, it's time for pushback.

9. This world's gone crazy, and it's hard to believe
that tomorrow will be better than today,

Believe it anyway..

You can chase a dream that seems so out of reach, and you know it might not ever come your way,

Dream it anyway..

These inspirational words by Martina Mcbride are based on the Paradoxical Commandments by Dr Kent M. Keith.

People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered. Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives. Do good anyway.

13. It makes me sad too, but I stay happy. I believe that America
has always been as unjust and cruel as it is now. The only social progress anyone has made has been through dedicated struggle.

14. Welcome to a society wherein the RW effectively controls the three major branches of
government and all levers of power: look for burgeoning income inequality, further concentration of most of the nation's wealth among a relatively few, lower effective income tax rates for large corporations and the wealthy, naked aggression overseas to further regional hegemony, perpetual war(s), vast unemployment and under-employment, increasing crime, poverty, and hunger, erosion in the standard of living, and the USA falling further to/near the bottom in all measurable quality-of-life factors among industrialized nations. Truly, the joys of living in a RW society are forever expanding and too numerous to list. ;)
