"Christian" USAF officer whines about repealing DADT...
Christian Air Force Officer Vows to Violate Military Regulations if DADT is Repealed
Chris Rodda
Thu Dec 16, 2010 at 03:12:19 PM EST

Saying that his "commitment to God supersedes commitment to the DOD," Air Force Lt. Col. Stacy L. Maxey has publicly vowed to violate military regulations and his oath to the U.S. Constitution if DADT is repealed. In a letter published by Stars and Stripes, Lt. Col. Maxey claims that it would be hypocritical that he would "be free to express myself if I'm a homosexual, but not if I'm a Christian."

1. "Maxey has publicly vowed to violate military regulations and his oath to the U.S. Constitution"
Good, I hope he means it.

Off to the brig with him and the rest of the bigots.

Yeah!

Mainly though, I've looked at a lot of your posts lately, without taking the opportunity to say hi. Let you know, "I've got my eyes on you."

2. Meh. He can tell all of his coworkers he's Christian--and gay members
can tell all their coworkers that they're gay. Now they're equal. No one is being prevented from making office chitchat with coworkers about their lives at home--they just can't make it a feature of their professional conduct and communications. Big fucking deal.

10. Exactly. That answers his argument perfectly.
One wonders why he didn't see that before.

18. My husband is an Air Force officer, and the idea that these guys are
muzzled or prevented from spouting their religious views is just laughable. Some of them lace every interaction and email with sprinkles of Jesus, it never stops.

3. I don't know about you but I'll sure sleep better tonight
Just knowing that geniuses like Air Force Lt. Col. Stacy L. Maxey are out there protecting me.

He's gonna be in for a big surprise when he finds out god doesn't reciprocate his commitment.

5. How does LTC Maxey square his commitment to God with his military career?
Who would Jesus bomb, Mr. Maxey? That fucker Zaccheus really had something coming to him, no? How about Judas? I know that Dante settled his hash pretty well in The Inferno, but why didn't Jesus take the matter in hand personally?

6. If he violates military regulations he will be court martialed.
There is a difference between 'being free to express' himself and deliberately violating military regulations.
I guess he miss the news yesterday of that other military guy that disobeyed orders because of President Obama's birth certificate and has now been found guilty and will serve 6 months in prison and will be discharged from the military!

Step forward and salute, or else resign!

11. Well maybe God will help in his defense when he is court martialed.
If so, then good for him. Otherwise, he's just ruining his career and future benefits and I wish him great success in trying to do so.

15. No need for the quotation marks
Christianity is as Christianity does.

The fact that their founder would be horrified doesn't change that.

20. +1 squidzillions!
"True" christians have killed millions in the 2000 plus years they've been around.

Very impressive for such a young religion, shows initiative.

22. Shameful, absolutely shameful
I spent several months working as a chaplain assistant during my time in the Air Force...and I don't know a single chaplain (who, almost by definition, are supposed to be the most religious people in the military) that would support this nonsense. Even the most conservative ones.

I really hope this guy doesn't hold a command position in his unit...I'd be ashamed if I were any of his subordinates.
