Sen. Sanders convened the first meeting of a Senate Social Security Caucus to protect the retirement program from critics who would cut benefits, raise the retirement age or privatize Social Security. Sens. Chuck Schumer, Barbara Boxer, Sherrod Brown and Sheldon Whitehouse participated in the first meeting of the caucus.
