People have to remember that there is a very good reason
women for the most part aren't at the demonstrations..someone has to watch over the small children in the home. With tear gas, etc. that was being used, in the midst of a demonstration is not what I would call good for their well being.

1. On Friday they were driving around in cars handing out water, soda and vinegar
to the demonstrators. The vinegar was to help overcome the tear gas.

3. I feel certain the poster meant not good for the children ...
that they are caring for. Why find offense where there is very unlikely to be any intent?

4. You did.
The OP is saying the tear gas is bad for the children. They didn't say anything to suggest it was good for anyone.

5. What I'm saying is it IS detrimental to a child's well being.
If the males are willing to put themselves in harm's way, that's their perogative. At the same time, someone has to stay home and see to the safety of the children. This frees men to demonstrate at will.

10. Since you didn't respond to "I agree with" I am still concerned
why tear gas and not bullets are your main concern. Do you think if tear gas was not a risk then taking children to this protest would be ok?

11. Instead of listing all the dangers inherent in a violent protest
I put etc. In the first few days those protests were a danger to all involved. What I was saying because the question was being asked is "where are the women" and I said they are probably taking care of the children who had no business in the thick of things. Was it really necessary to enumerate bullets, clubs, beatings, tear gas? None of these things are good for anyone, but sometimes in order for a people to move forward, these are the dangers they must face against the powers that be. That does NOT mean that children should be exposed and someone has to take care of them and that is usually the mother/grandmother/aunt (women)

13. I am relieved now. No enumeration was necessary at all. That was
the reason for my concern. I wouldn't want my wife to be in harms way, butt would respect her wishes. It however would never be required by me.

14. Protests are no place for children with or without tear gas etc.
They can become dangerous to ones health and children are impressionable. Now unless you are one who thinks it's ok to take children to protests without tear gas etc. I have nothing further to discuss with you on this subject because we are in agreement. If you are a person who thinks it's ok to take children to protests when there is no tear gas etc. I recommend you let your children decide some things on their own instead of truong to brainwash them. Let them have a childhood. Also you can never tell when things can go wrong. Do you get it?

15. You are creating an issue where there is none.
Strangely harping on a non-issue.

16. Taking children to a protest may be a non issue to you,
it is not to me. Children do not belong at protests.
