Poll question: Thumbs up or down for Obama throwing the chimp in the brig for war crimes.
Tryin' to keep it simple here.

Is there an "other" option that could apply?

We already know that Robb isn't actually a dingbat.

:smoke:

Maybe Obama doesn't want to pursue the matter...for many reasons.

That was choice fucking #2.

Try to keep up, OK?

5. I'm keeping up
I just didn't want to offend any sensibilities by suggesting that the current president may be excepting Bush from the rule of law.

23. How so?
Is it because no matter how much anyone wishes it, the chimp will never see a day in prison?

That's called reality. That is what's fucked up.

7. Works for me
He deserves a fair trial first though, like the one he arranged for Sadaam.

That would come under choice #1. after he gets thrown in the brig, he goes on to face justice.

I think it would actually improve his position. (you know...the "base")

Cheney should get locked up in the next cell. No blankets for his ass either,

to deal with now, and they are all out to get him. Not to mention all the problems this country faces. Yes, we'd love for idiot son and darth to get what they deserve, but I just don't see that happening.

33. I think the President is human and is more involved in what's
happening in the here and now v. revisiting the previous admin. He's so damned busy trying to right the wrongs of that admin that a trial isn't on the agenda.

Think what you will, I hated idiot son more than you perchance, but let's get on with the business of governing, and all that entails in these hard times-ESPECIALLY since the rethugs have no intention of contributing a thing except obstruction, as they have done for the first two years.

35. Is the president a war criminal?
If you think Bush was a a war criminal, you must think that Obama is one as well since he is not pursuing justice. Is "the business of governing" an excuse to be removed from responsibility?

50. so your ethics are situational
A Democrat means he's not a war criminal. Will partisanship always be your guide to who is responsible for what? If Obama does not pursue Bush for war crimes, does that make Obama a war criminal? Yes or no?

I think he missed the boat on that one. Since he did not take a stand against torture, and he is continuing Guantanamo, and illegal wars, and rendition etc. he would have to be named as an accessory in the CCR lawsuit.
How sad...when I think of all the hope that we had when he got elected :(

We needed to force the terrists to say anything we wanted - we were at war, and we needed fake intelligence.

I'm very, very excited that our Adult President is also backing Egypt's Chief of Torture to run that country.

30. Manny. Who should replace this President that would make you happy?
You claim you're a Dem, but you obviously don't like Obama. So WHO has the chutzpa you like, and who would carry out your vision? I look forward to your brilliant idea, because I can't think of a soul.
Your issues are valid, but this man has a whole lot on his plate, not just your issues.

So do tell; who would be better, and who could actually get elected?

I was originally going to post a poll to decide if the lyric "...and his hair was perfect" from Warren Zevon's 'Werewoves of London' was a better line than "She was filing her nails as they were draggin' the lake", from Elvis Costello's 'Watchin' the Detectives'.

Heh!

edited for quotes and commas and shit.

In theory, Bush is not above the law.

I would like to see an real investigation. This may happen in Europe but will not happen here due to political considerations. I don't agree with either distractor, so I did not vote.

well, it's just getting harder and harder to justify the idea that Bush should be in prison and Obama shouldn't. If you believe in the rule of law, technically they both belong in jail (although Obama with a fraction of the number of consecutive life sentences Bush should have).
