Wisconsin Gov. Walker Threatens To Deploy National Guard As ‘Intimidation Force’ Against Workers’ Unions

http://thinkprogress.org/2011/02/14/walker-anti-union-bill/

Last month, Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) said that if employees strike, “they should be fired,” and former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) wrote in an op-ed that the moral case for unions “does not apply to public employment.” Now, facing a $137 million budget deficit, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has proposed a “budget repair bill” that would severely limit collective bargaining, eliminate the right of unions to negotiate pensions, retirement and benefits.

Walker is facing fierce criticism for this all-out assault against state workers, especially after he insisted that the “National Guard” will be used against a walkout:

1. I really hope the people who voted republican in Wisconsin in the last election
are really enjoying what they get. That man needs to be arrested for treason against the people of the United States. The problem is the repukes have absolutely no fear of the people they claim to serve.

4. I would laugh if the National Guard told him to fuck off... do they
actually have to deploy for this or could they refuse? It seems like it would be a serious abuse of power.

7. I wonder if Walker realizes how many state workers are
National Guard members? I wonder how enthusiastic they would be if called up to intimidate their co=workers.

11. Many are union members here in WI as well.
What are they going to do to us? Does he think they would shoot us on his command? Walker is a serious fool.
