My father in-law is in a contractor union
based in Indianapolis. Most at DU should be aware by now of the strong labor turnout in statehouses across the midwest in recent days. The reason I am posting is that he and his union brothers and sisters have decided to go to the Indiana statehouse today to protest the "Right to Work" law that is being considered there. Normally this would not require a post but I felt like I needed to mention to everyone how big and important these protests truly are.

My father in-law is the type of person who puts on a political hat once every four years. Yes, he votes with a straight Democrat ticket in the elections. My wife told me today that he has never protested anything in his life before and that it is a huge deal for him to do so.

My point is that this is a big deal for all progressives anywhere on the left of the political spectrum. In solidarity.

7. Been there....
When I worked in Texas, I hated to take vacations because I always worried if I had a job when I returned.

Sure enough shortly after I got back I lost my job  ....and the worthless employees that kissed a$$ all the time are still there, again

8. Ding ding ding we have a winner
as a person who lives in such a state and was fired for being sick (legit, in the hospital, verified lab, highly infectious).
To top it off, I caught it at work.
