The camel was probably not a good idea, Jon (Daily Show)
http://www.todaystmj4.com/news/local/116645584.html">Capitol Chaos: Collapsing Camel at Capitol

By Jay Sorgi, TMJ4 Milwaukee

MADISON - Yes, that was a camel in Madison.

A video of a camel falling to the ground is making the rounds after people in the city for protests were suprised to see the animal in the capitol city.

Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" apparently brought the camel to the Capitol, it's not clear why.

A blogger took video of the camel stumbling and falling after one of its legs got stuck in a barricade.

Firefighters rescued the camel, who was able to continue walking.

1. How is this being attributed to The Daily Show??
And why are the camera men speaking in Arabic?

2. the Daily Show hasn't been funny lately
Jon's trying too hard to be "fair and balanced." The Colbert Report is still hilarious, though.

13. That is one thing I have to say for Colbert over Stewart
Colbert hasn't bought into the false equivalency thing and isn't backing down.

3. Drving a camel into a crowd is one man's simple plea for you noisy rabble to pipe down
and let him enjoy his privileges and money in peace and quiet.

CIVILITY, OR YOU GET THE CAMEL.

8. Thanks guys. Actually that had occurred to me-
I thought the ambiguity as to whether I was referring to Cairo or Madison, Mubarak or Stewart, would be pleasant.
never mind.

7. Well, If it was the DS playing off of Cairo then....Major FAIL.
I will, hopefully watch last night's episode today. I have heard that Jon was doing his "let's don't get angry", "we're all the same" stuff. If I think so I will post another FAIL notice. It will be my opinion but I value my opinions pretty highly. Also, I watched Colbert from last night and he was hilarious as always.

12. When I first saw that camel I thought "uh oh!"
I've read that camels can get REAL testy when they're ticked off. AND, I kinda felt sorry for the beast. Camels aren't exactly used to snow...

15. Shark-jumping moment?
When stunts overtake content, something's gone awry.

16. Nah, that was October 30, 2010 at the National Mall
As Olbermann put it: "Sticking up for the powerless is not the moral equivalent of sticking up for the powerful."

18. The Mall was a letdown, but it didn't feel like a stunt
It felt like something that could have been real -- except that they didn't quite have the guts to go with it. In comparison, this camel business seems like pure stunt.

But I think you and I would definitely agree that the Rally for Sanity was where Stewart lost his moral compass and began to disclaim his own role in the culture.
