The public has been sold on the notion that at the end of the day citizens are best served when politicians find a way to compromise. The underlying assumption is that (regardless of party) politicians act in good faith. IMO this isn't true:
1)On a national level we have seen that bipartisanship is often used to screw the public. For example an agreement that investigating the Bush administration would be too divisive and distracting.
2)The call demonstrates that Walker is acting in bad faith. Meaning that any good faith Democratic attempt at negotiation will be exploited.
The call shows that some politicians act in bad faith and it does not serve the public to pretend this isn't true.
