Woman with gun apprehended at WSOC-TV standoff

A woman with a gun entered WSOC-TV studios just after 5 p.m. tonight and the station went of the air.

Police spokesman Rob Tufano said the building was evacuated and that police didn’t know of any hostages.

About 5:45, officers entered the lobby where police say the woman was sitting. Police radio reports indicated the woman was taken into custody. No shots were heard from outside.

No one was reported injured at the studios. According to a Twitter feed from a WSOC producer, everyone was safe. "We are in a back-gated lot," the producer reported.
