Its really quite remarkable
A scant two weeks ago, our headlines were often filled with reports about the national "debate" on budget cuts. The far right nutbaggers were, hair afire, yelling about how we need to cut taxes and cut programs, citing that we "just haven't got any money left." Democrats were falling all over themselves to race these nutjobs to the extreme edge of the spectrum.

And now, when we have this opportunity to bomb the everloving fuck out of one of favorite perennial bogeymen, there's suddenly oodles of money to lob million-dollar-a-copy pot shots at his tent.

How does ANYone justify this?

Anyone?

Anyone?

Beuhler?

. . . . ?

2. One question.
Haven't we already spent the millions on production? I understand each missile costs 1.5 mil or so. But it isn't like we are building them on monday and launching them on tuesday right??

7. One question.
Do you believe, for even one moment, they will not be replaced?

5. Republicans are focused on destabilizing the global economy
Edited on Wed Mar-23-11 06:32 PM by abelenkpe
in the hope that increasing misery will lead to more gains in the next election. Both deficit reduction (mass layoffs of government workers and reducing government spending) and bombing the shit out of Libya help republicans realize this goal.

8. I rec your thread but to no avail. Obviously some manage to justify leaving homeless on the streets
hungry families fearing for the roofs over the heads, people driving to slave jobs without being able to afford car insurance, children growing up without the proper nutrition to develop their brains, people too stupid to realize how to fix this mess we're in, oh it's really quite remarkable alright. Remarkable but by no means accidental.

One other comment though, it wasn't just the far right nutbaggers. The rape of the US working class happened with bipartisan support. None of the housing, credit card or banking deals, to name just a few examples, were made with our benefit in mind. If we don't recognize this, we'll keep voting the same people in and nothing will ever change.

9. I agree with you.
In the OP, I alluded, rather quite gently, to the American Vichy.
