LePage unveil new "Welcome to Maine" Highway signs- "Open for Business"

KITTERY — Gov. Paul LePage announced to motorists on the Maine Turnpike Friday that Maine is, "Open For Business."

LePage ripped down black plastic and duct tape covering the new sign written in bold and capital letters, "Open for Business." The sign at the gateway into the state, on Interstate 95 in Kittery, hangs below the slogan proclaiming, "Welcome to Maine, The Way Life Should Be."

In unveiling the new sign, LePage fulfills a campaign promise made prior to his election in November.

"It's something I started way back during the primary," he later said at Eliot Commons on Route 236 in Eliot. "I said I would chop down the old sign and put up the new. Open for business is symbolic in one sense, it is certainly a driving force of our administration. We want to create new business, that's what the sign is all about."

The sign is not about tearing down regulations, said LePage, but "getting through the maze of regulations more quickly."

6. Right, because Wisconsin, Maine and Ohio weren't "open for business" before.
More like "Open Season on LABOR HA HA HAAAH!" Put that one up, LeDouche.
