The Democrats had better get moving. Cantor just announced
on Fox --Using their leverage, the Republicans
plan a repeat performance regarding the Debt Ceiling.
He plans to use Entitlement Reforms(Medicare and
Medicaid cuts) and refuse to increase the Debt
Ceiling unless cuts are made.

The Democrats had better get on the ball before
'they are once again behind the eight ball.

3. I've already heard Chuck Shumer say...
how terrible it would be if it were to happen. Even Jamie Dimond has said it would be awful for the economy and the stock market. What other position do they need?

4. Anybody get the feeling that the only reason a budget was not passed
in the first place was so the Repugs could beat concessions out of us on a weekly basis with the 'continuing resolutions'?

And the debt ceiling, coming up - THAT's the gold ring.

8. I doubt that the Dems are going to move anywhere,
They have that deer in the headlights look, and the 'Pugs are going to hit them again, and again. After all, playing this game of chicken has already gotten them so much, why not stick with a winning strategy.

I imagine that SS, Medicare and Medicaid are going to be hit hard. I also imagine that the Democratic spin machine will once again go into overtime trying to say that the shit sandwich delivered up is really fine caviar, and a great victory. We can't afford many more of those kinds of "victories".

11. This is all a well-choreographed dance, and there's nothing we can do short of a revolt.
We know how it's going to end, yet all we can do is scream to each other in our little echo chamber.

I'll gladly welcome anyone who wants to prove me wrong on this.

12. Here' s novel idea -- Tell them there is no deal on debt ceiling and..
If they want to negotiate over budget and policies there is plenty of opportunity during the normal budgeting process.

If they choose to default on the nations debts, it will be on their heads.

Repeat this endlessly in all possible venues by all possible Democratic leaders and spokespeople:

"IF THE GOP VOTES TO BE VINDICTIVE BY FAILING TO RAISE THE CEILING THEY ARE THE ONES WHO WILL BEAR RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE CONSEQUENCES."

Just a thought....After all, as recently as last year the thought of any adult politician refusing to raise the debt ceiling was considered almost inconceivable.

13. Don't raise the debt ceiling then bring every troop home, then raise taxes on corporations who
don't pay them... Maybe we could somehow get by with some good reform... And for the rich? You know, the highest 2% they can go back to Reagan era taxes as well. But none of these events will ever happen.
