Schweitzer to let (anti) medical marijuana bill become law without signing it

HELENA -- Gov. Brian Schweitzer said Friday that he will let a controversial medical marijuana bill take law without his signature.

He made it clear that he's not wild about the bill but said he can't support the status quo. Earlier in the session, Schweitzer vetoed a bill calling for an outright repeal of Montana's medical marijuana law.

"So I will hold my nose and allow this to be law until the Legislature gets back to session (in 2013)," he said. "I'm not going to sign it."

Schweitzer announced his plans for the bill at a late-afternoon press conference.

5. This is a repeal.
"The system will transform to one in which people authorized to use medical marijuana can either grow their own or obtain it without compensation from a provider who can grow it for up to three people. "http://billingsgazette.com/news/state-and-regional/montana/article_33b2ece0-72b6-11e0-b4e4-001cc4c002e0.html

So on July 1st 30,000 MM users will be looking for a caregiver. A caregiver that will grow and give you your medicine for free. Good luck on that one.

Large grow operations? Pure bullshit, the dispensary with 100 patients and a warehouse of 600 plants is considered the large grow operations the repukes speak of.

6. Meanwhile a Democratic governor
in Washington State http://www.theolympian.com/2011/04/30/1635117/gregoire-vetoes-most-of-pot-bill.html">strikes down a medical marijuana bill because it violates federal law.
