This was mentioned on the Maher show last night it is a good read:

That, or something like that, is what Hillary Clinton should have said on Wednesday. Instead, she said, resignedly,

Our constitutional democracy enshrines the peaceful transfer of power. We don’t just respect that. We cherish it. It also enshrines the rule of law; the principle [that] we are all equal in rights and dignity; freedom of worship and expression. We respect and cherish these values, too, and we must defend them.

This book was written in the 1950's in response to the anti-semitism of the Hitler regime and deals with, among other things, how authoritarians require a minority group to demonize and persecute as part of keeping their mental equilibrium. I thought I would share the link in hope it might shed some light on Trump cheerleaders.

has anyone here ever lived in a van/rv 'on the road'?

I may end up having to do this, or perhaps I should say choosing to do this, very soon. I would love to read or hear about people's experiences if you have a blog or a youtube vlog or something similar where you share your experiences. Do you regret doing this or was it a good decision (if by choice). I am currently living with a personality disordered parent and it is killing my soul. I am in my late forties and want to enjoy what time I have left in life without this toxicity. The house we are in was supposed to be somewhere I could stay after their death as long as I could afford it, however they recently admitted to me that they put in the will that the house is to then be sold and the $ divided between us four siblings, this will enrich my sibs a few thousand dollars each as there is still a mortgage, but will leave me with not enough to buy another place. I am PTSD disabled so it doesn't look like I will ever acrue enough for my own place unless I win the lottery. Now that I have this knowledge I honestly want to leave tomorrow but I have a number of pets and am terrifed what might happen if I break down somewhere with so many animals. Plus I don't want to delude myself about what is essentially homelessness. I looked for a subgroup on this but didn't find one, I hope this is okay to post this here.

is anyone dealing with a personality disordered parent?

I live with my mother and she is borderline to narcissist and they have a very hard time dealing with aging. She daily projects onto me her sadness that her children and her family several counties away are not living up to expectations of what her elder life should have been like. It is very challenging for me to keep my joy and positive attitude as I have PTSD and several mental illness dx's. She is probably in better health than me but seems determined to cast herself as almost physically disabled and deprived of any real support emotionally from her children (who are all good people).
