Portman is always portrayed as a moderate by the media, too. He talks a great line, but he follows his corporate masters. He will meet with a few constituents at a time in his DC office, but is afraid to have a real town hall anywhere in his home state of Ohio. It is also impossible to speak with his staff at any of his offices - the phones just ring & ring. Sometimes you can leave a voice mail on DC phone.

community college graduation last year and our eyes rolled so much and so far back during his speech, and even the flowery bullshit too-long introduction of him, that I'm surprised they didn't just fall out completely.

He had some goddamned nerve going on and on and on about education and the importance of higher education to a healthy country when he supports the tax monstrosity that is virtually a war on all education and will make higher education almost impossible to obtain anymore. FUCK HIM.

sometimes when she has cover — like if the repugs have more than enough votes they signal to her that she can vote against a bill and maintain her cover.

Or if other repugs are voting against a bill like earlier this year on the healthcare bill, she can side with them, but when it's critical for passage of a rebug bill, no matter how ugly, obscene or horrendously odious it is, she will get in line and vote party over country every time.

She's not fooling many anymore with her act.
