I received a call my sister, she is worried now about her Social Security and Medicare.

I told her why are you calling me for.

You voted for Trump so go suffer.

You will not be coming to live on my farm.

Go live with Trump.

I will never get someone getting benefits voting republican.

My sister, her husband, and daughter all get SS and Medicare.

Food Stamps also.

Going to get tough on them.

All my sister did was trash President Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Some times people have to learn the hard way.

Reflect on the symmetry of the tax plan. It will cost $!50B/yr (probably more but you get the idea). The Treasury is going to need to come up with $150B/yr to retire the Trust Fund securities. Doing this keeps SS whole for another 20 years.

Money is fungible, but it helps to communicate the point. For the life of me I don't know why the Democratic party is not running ads to make this point.

Also make the point that the wealth class contributed nothing to the Social Security Trust Fund, and high income earners did very little when compared to their income. The burden was carried by the middle class workers.

I voted for Hillary. I am 76 years old. I am sick to death about my social security and Medicare. I will die w/o them. One of my medications is $500 for a 3 month supply and I am on 5 other meds. There is no way I can afford those meds on my own. I guess the orange one and the GOP would be very happy if we old ones die....sorry but I hate your sister. And don't forget the GOP agenda will be"tough" on all of us who depend on social security and Medicare to survive....and the key word here is "survive"..we don't really live.

And those of us yet to retire may get NOTHING or severely cut benefits. I'm worried SICK about it. Many have done all they're supposed to do in order to have a secure retirement ONLY TO HAVE IT STOLEN FROM THEM by TRUMP & Co so BILLIONAIRES and CORPRATS can have tax cuts.

Like you, I’ve worked and paid into Social Security since I was 16. I checked my records the other day and confirmed it.

I stay angry and I stay panicked about what the future will bring. I’m about to lose a job I’ve had for 16 years and haven’t been able to find a new one. It’s a common theme for people our age.

Your farm sounds like a great idea. I often tell my friends that the only way many of us are going to survive is to join together, live together, and learn to take care of one another.

I really do love them, despite their poor voting habits, and since they don't seem likely to change, we have wordlessly agreed to disagree.

Mom and Dad would have loved it here. They both grew up in the Great Depression. My wife and I are both disabled and are having to downsize fast. We are going to have to find somewhere cheaper to live and will probably move to Arkansas to be near my youngest daughter and her family.

Amazingly enough, this probably won't change a lot of them. I think many of them seriously think it was Obama's fault. They still listen to FUX and believe in their "hearts" that Trump is being mistreated. If everyone would just get out of the way and the press would stop reporting on what Trump is doing so that he could do it all in the dark we would all be ok

Makes me want to vomit.

And no, I don't feel sorry for anyone who voted for dump. I know a lot of Federal employees who did so, despite warnings, and have no idea what's about to hit them. After their pay is cut and benefits decimated, perhaps they will reconsider.

I don't believe you acted shamefully at all. People are voting without realizing the consequences. I know too many who have done this. Their hate for other human beings clouds their judgement and they seem blinded by that hate, unwilling to listen to reason. It appears to be epidemic at times. What have we become as a people? Sometimes tough love is the only way to reach through.

because I feared waiting any longer and what Republicans would do to it if they got the chance. I am now 66 and recently separated from my husband. It's possible that Republicans will go after the benefits to which I'm currently entitled after the divorce where I can file for an additional amount up to half of his SS since mine is much lower.

Fortunately I have other funds available to live on. I think I can make them last 20 years. But when they're gone I am not going to live in the streets. I will make my own exit plan.

That is exactly what these heartless Republicans want: death of anyone without private sources of money. I cannot begin to tell you how contemptible they are.

I've split with half my family permanently, and they think exactly like your sister and her family does. Mind you, my one uncle received disability after his leg was amputated in a railroad accident, he's collecting a union and Army pension, Social Security, and is on Medicare. My aunt is on Social Security and Medicare as well. His son, my cousin, is an ex-con who's been enrolled in every kind of job training/second chance program there is, and was a deadbeat dad to three girls in their twenties (and one just died last month). Every last one of them voted for Trump because they're tired of "moochers" — and "moochers" translates as "black."

Some people are just stuck on stupid. And mean.
