I read it that had republicans won in 2008, they would have gotten the blame.

Once Obama won, of course he had to fix the mess. Had he failed, we would have gotten the blame, not republicans.

the Rethugs refused to help pass a fix-it-bill to correct grammar and other language errors in the original ACA bill ,but rather go to the Courts where they lost their collective asses. Obama never said a single word about this final case. That saved their collective back sides only to prevent any further Legislation to move.

If the Dems Cave on the New Republican Fix-it-Tax Bill, their will be hell to pay if they join in for passage.the one to watch is Stieny Hoyer.

The Democratic Party, especially since FDR's time, and in the modern time under Kennedy, Johnson, Carter, etc... have been the party of public/private solutions. Government cannot solve all problems but government sets the environment in which problems can be addressed through market based, civic minded, and government sponsored action.

It is not in the Democratic DNA to allow society to collapse and people to suffer when there is anything that can be done about it.

I know we are all mad and frustrated, but the reality is if catastrophe is called for in order for a "rebuilding" to occur because maybe it will be better, it is a good sign that the person calling for it has probably not lived through a catastrophe before.
