we try to capture the essence of our subject's hypocrisy, cupidity, stupidity, callousness, deviousness (as here since he's preparing us for Mueller's firing this weekend), etc.

All for the purpose of satire.

(But here, I think, pointing as well to a very dangerous mentality which might result in more than a simple Constitutional crisis.)
