That's basically the argument the Republicans are making.

(11,804 posts)The cuts in social services that this tax cut will necessitate will ensure that we are unable to deal with the next crisis without drastic action. And I don't see an FDR coming along and making such changes; I could be wrong there, but it seems like that was a one time deal.

Supply-side economics is like a Zombie monster that just won't die no matter how many times it's tried and no matter how many times it ultimately fails. It would be nice if somebody can just figure out some way to kill it once and for all. I mean, you'd think that the "boogeyman" arguments for why your life sucks (i.e. liberals, immigrants, minorities, welfare queens, queers, et. al) would cease to be effective.......eventually?

(3,142 posts)Josh Marshall on TPM has a piece on how he believes #GOPtaxscam should be heist. But he says its not because he wants to nitpick. He thinks messaging on the tax bill has been done well.
Then the Washington Post published a story today outlining how the GOP plans to build support for the bill in the near term. Their plan includes airing commercials, heralding the news of middle class taxpayers who do have lower 2018 tax bills and other strategies developed by Koch-backed entities. We need to have a counter punch to keep our message, which needs to be sustained, out there.
