A coin toss? Really? Virginia election...

So, one vote doesn't matter? They, according to their law, are going to decide the vote by a coin toss? Is this for real? If so, why do I waste MY time voting? Let's just flip a coin on all the elections! Jesus!

I'm grateful to every Dem voter whose votes prevented a mathematical loss. nt greyl Dec 2017 #2

Print up ballots, open polling sites, conduct a new round of voting with a lower turnout.

This is how many local races that end up in a flat-footed tie are decided: a coin flip or cutting the cards. This is used ONLY in races where the certified result is a tie vote. The idea that "all the elections" would or should be decided by a coin flip is remarkably silly.

I guess if Simonds wins that, it will be best two out of three, three out of five....

But if one more Dem had voted it wouldn't be necessary. Have to admit I'm amazed that an election involving 20,000+ votes ended in a tie. In any event, we should use this as an example of why your vote counts.
