The Winter Solstice is this Thursday, the 21st! In the Northern Hemisphere, the solstice marks the darkest day of the year. After the 21st, daylight increases!

No cell phone service, no tv, but miles of trails, and nice wood stoves.

Lots of history close by too.

I'm on a river, and my home is seriously relaxing, but I'll keep this in mind!

9. It really is a neat little spot. Not fancy but one of my favorite spots in the world.

Falling Water is about an 1 hour away, so is Antietam, Casselman's Bridge*, Casselman's Restaurant,
and lots of history and nature. If you go midweek you might have the park to yourself. I have
only been there in the fall and winter but it is nice year round.

I fucking HATE the low winter light. My wife loves it, but she dislikes the long summer sunshine. We help each other through the solstices.
