Remember when he said in his inimitable style:
"My people are so smart. And you know what else they say about my people, the polls? They say I have the most loyal people. Did you ever see that? Where I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK? It's like incredible."
Now there's a poll to check if he was right. Turns out, he was (for once):

Let that sink in. 45% of Trump voters said it was okay for a president* of the United States to murder someone in cold blood, as long as it was Donald Trump. And 26% just didn't know, couldn't decide, if that would be right or wrong.
These are the people whom we are told we must "reach out" to.

Full frontal fascism is here.

(347 posts)Trump told me, if I voted for Hillary, there'd be a criminal in the White House, the FBI would be arresting White House aides, and before long the President would be arrested.
I voted for Hillary and guess what . . .

(37,648 posts)It reminds me of...a cult. There are some people who can be brainwashed enough to follow a cult leader, let him (and it's always a "him" punish their children, cut them off from family, take their money, and sometimes even murder for him. They continue to follow the cult leader.
That's what this seems like to me.
It's just possible it's a similar thing. Democrats may not be as prone to becoming cult followers. I know that I am not. Maybe liberals are more independent thinkers? More prone to be suspicious of authoritarian so-called leaders?
If this is what's going on, that's very difficult to fix, since many, I've read, require extreme deprogramming. This is scary that there are SO MANY in our country who are like this.
