All of this is in place and ready to go. Good luck everyone.

Environmental damage will increase. The chance of a major environmental disaster will increase. The EPA is being gutted. Deregulation, lack of oversight. Oil drilling, fracking, mining, all deregulated. Workplace safety being deregulated. Look for an increase in work place deaths.

Financial crisis, trickle down economics is now in place. The debt, wealth divide will grow. This will hurt the american people over time. Deregulation across the board, Corruption will fill the void. Watch the banks.

Foreign policy, diplomacy has been replaced with bluster and threats. Trump is changing the world order. He is removing America from the world stage in many areas. What will take its place no one knows. Increased chance of international chaos over time. He is turning our allies against us in many ways.

Everything Trump has done is for short term gain. He does not look long term. That guarantees failure long term.

The investigation, this will not end well for Trump or the country. It will get ugly and maybe we deserve it. There has been a big change in the american people. A great selfishness, like forcing our beliefs upon each other. It doesn't work. It took an extreme lack of values to vote for Trump, an extreme ignorance to be able to vote for Trump. Its hard to reconcile and understand.

2018 may be a year none of us will ever forget.

I will celebrate like never before when Trump is removed from office. Hopefully after the shit hits the fan the american people will return to moderation, american values, unselfishness. We may need an ass kicking to get us there.

that took generations to build. Things that he has done and still doing, won’t be easy to undo and may again take generations.

I think Putin has pulled a J Edgar Hoover on key players in the rethug political hierarchy.
That's a scary proposition for America.

I won't be holding my breath, since nearly half the voting public is too willfully ignorant and filled with irrational hatred and bias's to ever come close to moderation. They're out of the shadows now, and have no qualms about it. In fact, many are proud bigots.

Moderation? Not a snowballs chance. IMO I think a civil war is inevitable.

In fact, I would expect when the consequences of all his wrecking balls on everything begin to be felt, people will be in such a hardscrabble situation that they'll actually turn harder against others. There will be a siege mentality that will be a "Us" versus "Them" state; a "Me" versus "You" or "Them", as it were that we will be viciously defending what little we have remaining when the kleptocrats have stripped us of everything we have, hold dear and believe in. The Trumpians don't believe in anything, obviously. They give lip service to morality and their god, but the only god of their idolatry is Trump and the only thing they believe in and hold dearest is their irrational hatred of all "others".

There’s always been a minority, but a large enough minority, of really bad actors and now they’re in charge.

Trump isn't the problem, he's the symptom. A sane, functional country does not elect an unqualified, unfit clown for president.

Maybe it is the continued years of propaganda permitted without an adequate response. They were tolerated.

is the book by the psychiatrist, Allen Frances, MD, Twilight of American Sanity: A Psychiatrist Analyzes the Age of Trump

Reading it together with Bandy Lee's book, The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President,
provides a lot of food for thought.

There are so many factors that have led to this, that it's like a laundry list of set-up for failure. In no particular order:

* Widening income inequality
* Rising demands for the rights of minorities, women and LGBTQ
* Fox News
* Lack of Civics course
* Worship of capitalism and greed
* Loss of the WWII generation
* Social media
* Stranglehold of corporate interests funding GOP candidates
* Bread & Circuses mentality

Our society is convulsing and it was ripe for a faux strong man to stroll on to the national stage and tell the disgruntled White Christian Paranoiacs that he could bring them back to the promised land: 1950s America ruled by God-fearing White Christians.

You can take away Trump, but you're still left with the people who voted him and the GOP party that traded its soul to rule the country.
