Oh, about every week and a half as of late. That's one of the reasons that I joined DU.

Fortunately for me, when I'm ready to break apart or implode into an inert little ball, the Universe seems to provide me with what I call "a Grace Note". It's usually some little something like a beautiful play of light in some unexpected place that makes me stop and recognize beauty and wonder still exist.

Despite the fact that we have what'shisname to contend with, the Universe really IS bigger than him (or rather, his ego). Sometimes we need to look outward to find majesty, and sometimes we need to look inward to find something fascinating.

Have you ever really looked intently at an ordinary concrete sidewalk when the sun is shining on it? Because of the bits of quartz sand used in the mix, tiny crystals catch the light. I find it lovely to notice that the everyday pavement beneath my feet actually sparkles. But it only sparkles when I take the time to see it.

Gave up network and cable TV years ago. Already pay too much for internet and iphone. And now-a-days one can watch nearly any show out there if you know your way around the net. There's online progressive radio and youtube. And links to the latest news video clips, and news sources, on great sites like DU. I like that I'm in control of when and what I absorb. Not tied down to having to watch a show in real time.The ability to make information distribution fit ones schedule instead of catering to externally controlled top-of-the-hour start and finish times. I like being the one that knocks.

You and I are from similar necks of the woods I gather (though I live in Seattle now). Our peoples are tough as nails. His? Not so much. They're just loud grifters.

I had my cable shut off in 2001 and have no TV. But I get bits from the internet and see TV in stores and at friends and neighbor's houses. UGH. THERE. IS. NO. WAY. I'd PAY to watch any of it. They'd have to pay ME. A LOT.

I don't need to hear anymore about what this pretender is doing - I need to hear what we are going to do about it, and that's not on cable news!
