I mean hes a disgusting, vile, who uses theatrical tactics like tRump and Fox and their ilk. But, still, an FBI warrant for his emails? It is curious to me that he is coming up at this time in the investigation. Weird even. No? The connections must be oddly dispersed. I would have figured other names and warrants and Clarke would not be among them. I realize I am arm chair quarterbacking and Im not qualified not to mention I am grateful I am not responsible for this investigation. I attempt to put the puzzle pieces together like most people here at DU. This is a strangely shaped puzzle piece lacking distinguishing marks that makes it difficult to connect. Thats the way I see it. I wonder what your thoughts are? Who is Clarke and how does he fit in? Why pursue him now?

Sounds like this Clarke character ran Milwaukee Counties Sheriff's department much like Aripio. There is most likely more cases of his Political abuse yet to come.

(22,304 posts)This has little to nothing to do with the investigation into Trump and a lot to do with the fact that a loudmouth sheriff used his position to threaten someone.

(37,981 posts)The affidavit, which had requested a search of Clarkes private email account, was revealed as part of a filing in U.S. District Court in Wisconsin on Thursday. Its unclear if it indicates continued interest by the FBI or just details information from months earlier.
In May, federal prosecutors informed Clarkes attorney that they werent going to pursue charges against him over his encounter with passenger Dan Black. But according to the affidavit, filed in March, investigators for the Audit Services Division of the Milwaukee County controllers office determined as part of its own investigation that Clarke had used his official position as sheriff of Milwaukee County in excess of his lawful authority to direct his deputies to stop and question Black without legal justification.
The unsealed affidavit was first spotted in the new federal court filing by a Detroit Free Press reporter...

(33,019 posts)In December 2015, Mr. Erickson returned to Russia as part of an N.R.A. delegation that included David Keene, the groups onetime president, top donors and David A. Clarke Jr., the former sheriff of Milwaukee County who became a popular Trump campaign surrogate. At one stop, the group met with Dmitry Rogozin, the deputy prime minister in charge of defense. A photograph from the meeting shows Mr. Torshin was also present.
