Since this list is mostly women, one can assume it's still easier for women to come out in sports.

3. Honestly, many equestrians are gay. There are more than this list shows

Some sports have openly gay athletes and its par for the course and isn't even controversial. Dressage (yes, the dreaded sport of Ann rMoney) has many openly gay athletes and its been a completely a non-issue since well, forever, in the sport.

Many ancient male warriors engaged in gay sex for bonding and pleasure. It wasn't frowned on in the least. Maybe that's why dressage
(the art of battlefield maneuvers) has always had an openly gay community - its been that way since the beginning when horses were the equivalent of an ancient tank in warfare.

Same with Combined Training - the old military 3 day test of battle and riding skills.

Even show jumping has a very large gay community.

There's no prejudice, bigotry or condemnation in this sport. Women compete equally with men and sexuality plays absolutely no role. So being "out" is no big deal.
