If it is very cold where you are, there probably are clear skies. So just view the Supermoon

I can see a very, VERY vague glow, but that's it.

I'd hate to think of what the temperature would be if the sky was clear.

12 degrees here (Kansas City area) but lovely clear skies. I even dragged my sister (who's been complaining about the cold nonstop for a week now) out briefly to look at it.

On July 31st, Mars will be at its closest approach to Earth since 2003.

It starts the approach in March by appearing in the evening skies.

Too bad we didn’t have a manned mission on its way there. It may be more usable than Earth in a few years at our rate.
