Somehow, I think Mitt would not be joining the sycophant choir felating Trump

Last edited Tue Jan 2, 2018, 05:23 PM - Edit history (1)

I'd love this seat to be contested hard by a Democrat, but if Mitt runs, I think he wins.

Given how red Utah is, Mitt is likely our best shot at an at least sane Senator.

Edit again: This post is not an endorsement of Mitt. It is an observation.

I want to thank everyone for their replies. <=== Sarcasm.

Who could forget this photo of the moment when Mitt realized he'd offered Trump his soul and Trump didn't want it?

OTOH, Mitt's awfulness is just ordinary, garden-variety old-school GOP awfulness, not nihilistic, weapons-grade Trump-style awfulness; and he's at least an improvement over Orrin Hatch.

Trump and the Kochs on his knees is what he thinks will advance him in service of god, he'll do it. He lied almost as often and just as blatantly as Trump while he was campaigning, you know.

He's not a terribly intelligent or insightful man, almost devoid of intellectual curiosity like so many religious extremists. Commitment to his fundamentalist religion, including creating god's kingdom run out of Independence, Missouri, is his passion. And that's potentially just as huge a problem for us as Paul Ryan-type libertarian zealotry, or more since the religious right will work with him and his plutocrat allies in the Koch alliance.

religious seditionists accepted Mitt before, the latter as a tool in their move to imposing a Christian state, and they would again. As for him, lol. Yes.

If the democrats win back the house, impeachment is on the table, and we will need Republicans like Romney to remove him from office.

That Mitt Romney? He's right-wing corporatist with little to no connection to ordinary working Americans, but he'll no doubt play in Utah.

He never struck me as "Alpha" enough to be a real top dog - despite the supposed white horse prophesy, but he's still a high level suit looking to set himself high enough in the hierarchy to make a serious profit while living a princely lifestyle. He'll do whatever the other Mob Bosses want.
