Malcolm Nance - how Russia used Jill Stein (new info)
I am a HUGE fan of Malcolm's -- in fact, I can't think of many people who are as high, let alone higher on my list. This is a 18 minute video, but IMO it's worth it because Nance goes into more info about Russia's strategy and tactics, in this case how they included Jill Stein. And who ELSE was at that table with Stein, Flynn, Putin, etc. (You'll be surprised.) Anyway, watch it when you can spare 18 minutes. It covers other stuff too, but those topics are the reason i'm posting it here at DU.

9. Basically that
...Stein is a 'fellow traveler' (sympathetic to the Russian cause) and that she believed that the Democratic party would fracture and the Greens would rise from its ashes as the leading party.
Also I think he said Assange's father was at that Russian dinner table? Not sure I heard that well enough. |

So these additional revelations are extremely interesting to say the least.

Clueless, gullible, hypocritical, AND poor judgement to-boot!
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. Just LOOK at how giddy and animated she is she can barely contain her excitement about the thought of a Trump administration and at the horrors that await us. ![]() |

22. Did the Russians use Stein, or did Stein use the Russians?
Obviously, it ran both ways. The Russians wanted to peel votes away from Clinton. Persuading progressives to vote for Trump or not to vote at all would be difficult, so it was helpful to the Russians that the Green Party was on the ballot in most states.
For Stein’s part, she as a candidate naturally wanted to get as many votes as possible. We didn’t want her to get votes, but it wasn’t improper for her to pursue them. I don’t know whether she knew that the Russians would mount a social-media operation on her behalf. As I understand the facts, the result, regardless of her level of knowledge, was that her candidacy was supported by resources that the Green Party, by itself, wouldn’t have been able to muster. There were common interests. Is that a basis for reviving the old right-wing smear of “fellow traveler”, as Nance does in this clip? Seriously, I don’t think I’ve heard that phrase in decades, except maybe as a joke. As Wikipedia states, during the McCarthy/HUAC era it was an accusation leveled at those suspected of “promoting 'un-American' ideals, e.g. civil liberties, racial equality, opposition to book censorship, public health services, vaccination, mental health-care services and fluoridation, which were believed to be Communist plots to subvert U.S. society." I admit, it probably served the USSR’s interest in the 1950s for leftists to point out that, for example, blacks were being lynched. The Communists used such statements to undercut this country’s claim to be a shining beacon of freedom and democracy. What the left should have learned from those dark days was that the mere fact that something helps the Kremlin doesn’t make it wrong. |
