I could see Archie in things my father would say about people, issues of the day etc
I wasn't exactly a Meathead, but I could SURE see what points he was making in his arguments with Archie.

My feel my father finally came around, although a bit, when he came home from work one day and mom and I were watching the news. Vietnam reporting was going on, and almost daily occurrence, during that time period. At the end of the report, dad stated, "If you get drafted, I'm paying your way into Canada". Then he asked what was for dinner and walked out of the room. My mom and I just looked at each other.
