They're all over the place like a pandemic. This one is priceless! They really think they are above the law.

I conspired against the US, I'm definitely a traitor, I lied on my app for national security clearance, but I definitely think the US government owes me something."

his attorneys will. Can't think of a more fitting punishment for him then to wind up broke and homeless.

"...Paul Manafort has sued special counsel Robert Mueller"

NO...he has filed a law suit. Muller has not been sued.

they could also have been clearer and said Mueller is "being" sued, or as I'd mention has had a law suit filed, but he has not yet been sued.

this is the line from the article that I was referring to:

Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort has sued special counsel Robert Mueller, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and the Department of Justice in U.S. federal court

To sue is a verb whose meaning is "to bring an action against". Indeed, the legal dictionary sitting on my desk defines "sue" as a verb meaning "to make legal claim"

Manafort has brought an action against Mueller; he has made a legal claim against Mueller; he has sued Mueller. All correct. All the same thing.

I would assume Mueller is prepared for this kind of legal maneuvering?
