Democrats will probably not be able to run on the economy this fall?

Will they have anything else to run on but the lack of competency and stability of Donald J Trump?

Will that be enough?

Should they even think of running on any other issue?

There are many other issues more important than the presidency of Donald Trump but nothing can be done about them until Trump is gone.

When you are up to your ass in alligators, it is difficult to think of anything else.

55% of the people out there have no stocks, no savings for retirement. The youth have mounds of student debt and minimum wage jobs waiting for many of them out there so they can work 2 or 3 jobs to pay off their bills. Republicans stealing social security and Medicare is the economy. Lack of affordable healthcare is also economy.

And if Dems are smart, they'll unequivocally back the financial benefits of legalized weed. Screw Jefferson Beauregard Sessions.

Repubs oppose any increase in minimum wage and advocate eliminating federal minimum wage entirely.

Trump budget includes elimination of funding for popular programs such as Meals on Wheels and home heating assistance for elderly while Repub leaders are threatening to go after popular "entitlements" that most Americans rely upon for economic security and have been paying for through payroll taxes.

There is so much we can run on. Just the damage that the republicans are doing to the poor and middle class is enough. Anyone who doesn't see that should not be running for office.

about the sudden push to exert federal control over state issues. Libertarians, especially. Corey Gardener, the senator from Colorado is pretty pissed about the marijuana action and Rick Scott is pissed about the prospect of oil rigs off the coast of Florida.

they ran on people being sick of Shrub's wars and deceptions. That was just before the economy tanked, which when that happened later, eventually helped us get the Presidency in 2008.

However Democrats can ask the Drumpf-humpers whether they are "better off" than they were before (and we know the answer to that although they may have to think about it for awhile).

it's leaving millions behind. IIRC, 57 million don't have $500 saved for an unplanned expense and half haven't put anything toward retirement. Then there's crushing student debt, unaffordable housing, stagnant wages, astronomical healthcare costs, etc. And those worried about Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Wall Street booming means squat to these folks, and Dems need a carefully crafted message to reach them. And part of that message needs to tout the economic benefits of legalization... a majority of the country supports legalization, including Republicans.

are not gullible enough to believe trump has some magical power to turn the economy around on a dime but short attention spans will be entranced by the possibility of a bigger pay check even if it comes with a price down the road, i will give trump that, he knows how to throw a few bones.

Not households - Americans. 39% have no savings at. all.

"Prosperity" is about as thick as wallpaper.

Even with savings, you're one car crash or one neoplasm away from bankruptcy with our fucked-up health care.
