(6,042 posts)But I still have an iPhone after 3 generations of Samsung Galaxies that all started having major problems and needed to be replaced after about 18 months. My iPhone 6S is now about 13 months old. We'll see.

(4,492 posts)IT still works fine but is naturally slowing down. I'm getting the S9 when it comes out.

(15,642 posts)My S6 froze during a OS update and it never worked right again. Took it in to get it fixed 3 or 4 different times but the fixes would last a few days and then it would freeze again and I'd have to reboot, and then the 2nd or 3rd time rebooting, it would disintegrate into a reboot cycle but never actually boot up. I'd have to power off and wait a few hours before trying rebooting again. Frustrating ... and expensive.

(44,117 posts)My experience with Apple products is that they last a long time and hence are cost effective and more productive. That was not my experience with my Windows based machines. Of course ymmv.
I would never tell anyone what technology they should choose. What ever you prefer and what works for you is fine by me.
I certainly have no difficulty with people choosing different products than I do, and I would never describe your choice as addictive, insinuating you had mental problems because you got a Samsung phone.
I am definitely not interested in promoting FUD with colorful cute cartoons. I know thats popular on DU, have fun.
