Sitting next to a deplorable?

Recently I sat right next to a rather large gentleman at a movie. Through the trailers he continued to play a game on, not his phone, but on a large screen tablet. When the movie began I asked if he could please turn it off. At first, he looked like he was ready to throw a punch, but he turned it off. He also left theater not long into the movie.

Maybe he needed to check his news feed from Faux News.

I can be as big a jerk as any conservative; if I put my mind to it I can be a total asshole! And I'm sure there are plenty of liberals who have exactly the same capabilities.

For most Cons, it is opposite. They naturally are utter pricks and have to work to be nice.

"Dont Be A Hater" and my sweatshirt "RESIST" because I made a point of making sure everyone can see both so the prick took forever to put his lotto tix in his wallet making me and the checker stand there and wait for him.

Confrontations are coming.

When I'm in a line or a row, of some sort, I generally assume there is some form of idiot deplorable on either side of me.

One of the members was still bitching about to another member on the "taking a knee during the National Anthem" at NFL games and the disrespect for the flag.

I looked over at Mike, his real name, and softly said. "With all due respect, Mike, there are more pressing matters affecting this country like the good chance you and I , and most people here, will be losing our Medicare and Social Security benefits. Perhaps that should be of more concern to you than taking a knee at football games."

Mike looked back at me and looked like he was about to deck me. The lady sitting next to him looked bewildered. After the meeting, he stormed out. Wait until next Friday when I go to my Weekly Weight Watchers meeting.

We are dealing with a cult. Many of them will eventually need to be deprogrammed.
