He always had the balls to go out after the pukes and then he was stabbed in the back while he was leading the charge.

Who's leading the fight now?

...and my caveat is that I will not support Gillibrand.

If the Democratic party decides that they will reward a former Blue Dog with the nomination.
If the Democratic party decides that they will reward someone who used Bill and Hillary Clinton to get a Senate seat and then turned on them the minute it suited her needs.
If the Democratic party decides to reward the person that led the charge against one of her own, one of the most liberal Democratic Senators that we have(had), particularly when he was considered by almost everyone to be one of her main 2020 competitors.

If they Democratic party decides to do this then I will know that they have learned nothing and have continued down the road they started on what I consider to be the beginning of the end of their convictions, that being when they chose Joe Lieberman as their VP in 2000. That is that the most important thing is rewarding those who tell the Republicans what they want to hear and internalizing their criticisms.

Gillibrand is my own personal line that I will not cross.

I have many issues with other leading 2020 lights like Booker and Harris and even Warren (all 3 were also a bit too enthusiastic about piling on Franken), but they all have other aspects of their political careers that I respect and more than enough positions that I agree with them on and that I fee they are 100% sincere on.

Any more than they do yours. I'm under no illusions.

As for your own purity test it appears to be "support Democrats" but you're willing to support a Democrat who violates that exact rule on multiple occasions. You are literally holding anonymous posters on a message board to a higher standard than a candidate for the Presidency of the United States.

Got it.

I will support ANY Dem candidate over a GOPer ALWAYS! Period. And especially in 2018. Please do NOT let this wretched affair make any of us lose sight of that!

I also believe that GOPers will find Al even more effective against them outside the Senate. Because Al KNOWS what's at stake and is not at all shy about saying so. If anything, he has NO constraints whatsoever now. And he is a lifelong Democrat.

GOPers may well have cause to regret letting him not worry about re-election, although I also believe that Minnesotans would re-elect him in a heartbeat.
