Good news/bad news: the good---release of the Fusion GPS transcript clearly showed that

Grassley and his accomplices have been lying to the public for months; the bad---this will have zero effect on Congressional Republicans as they literally have no shame.

won't know about it until the press focuses on it relentlessly. I'm not sure that is going to happen.

while Rs are playing completely off the hook, insane, deranged, blood thirsty partisan politics.

They media at large is not going to crush the Rs for this, they had their nuts clipped LONG ago being brow beaten as the "liberal press."

Who are they going to stick their microphones in front of?

The endless array of lunatic Rs spewing their insanity, that gets interest of a now reality TV starved country?

OR, some some soft spoken D pussyfooting around it because, you know, you just can't flat call out Rs for being treasonous scumbags because that isn't proper to do to a fellow congressman/senator?

There was a study a few years back that went back to the 1980s and analyzed the guests on all those influential Sunday morning talking heads political shows... no matter who was president or who controlled Congress, Republicans have tended to dominate the guest lists on these shows - the ratio does change, but it's always more Republicans than Democrats. And, if a Republican is a guest on one of those shows, they're far more likely to be the only guest. When Democrats are on those shows, they typically have a Republican on with them to give counter-arguments

I really started getting interested in politics in the early 2000s, after W won.

Got myself all juiced up for the Sunday shows, like MTP, but found myself getting all agitated about how slanted they ended up being, REALLY got tired of how Russert was treated like some honest broker, but would nearly throw things at the TV when he did his thing where he kept drilling at Ds, while doing one round at an R then pretty much kissing their asses.

By the mid 2000s I stopped watching because it just wasn't worth the spike in my blood pressure.

... all the praise for Tim Russert (RIP), and then I would stick it out for the hour and, "give him another chance", and would end up with a cow patty in my face. Every time. He always had to get a snide cut in against the Democratic Party member.

and be the change. There are plenty of us who don't get our news from the TV or radio. We need to do what we can to keep this type of info front and center on the internet via social media. Less and less people get their news from the teevee.

The release was broken wide on the internet and tv news stations; could print media be working on a more in-depth analysis that couldn't rationally be completed in a day? (Essentially they're not jumping to conclusions how big the story is, but they're working on it...essentially 'Film at eleven...&quot

the M$M would be calling on Grassley and Graham to be prosecuted and resign.

The biggest lie out there is that the media is liberal.

Congressional Democrats should be calling for their resignations, we need some fighters.

Maybe a handful of them. This was a public release meant for public consumption and to generate ill feelings toward Republicans.

Here is what Rachel said.

Thanks to Dianne Feinstein that argument is dead, and Republicans have nowhere left to go, but down with Trump.

I turned on the TV and went to all the "news" channels and there was not a peep about what I think is and will be the biggest news story this year. Yet, not a peep. National news on the big three and nadda was said. At first I thought DU had been shined. Just a few stories on the internets (thanx for that GWB) was all I found. I thought and still think this story is absolutely huge and it points the Republicans straight to prison. What do I know.........

Nothing except them being constantly referred to as "infamous".

Not in print or on teevee.

Hopefully there will be some damaging revelations concerning Trump and team including others in the GOP. The reason for stonewalling will hopefully be exposed in the contents.

They are calculating the odds of whether it's better to make Shitler walk the plank and install the ghoul as resident-in-chief and face annihilation within their own party by furious voters, or see what overall effect tRump has with the voters at large. I believe if they lose enough seats they'll be in no position to keep supporting this monstrosity. They're playing the long game in this and, at the same time, they're all covering their own asses for their tacit complicity in allowing the cretin to actually get into the WH, because each and every one of them were well aware of Shitler's crime family being courted by Putin and falling into bed with him.

the transcript and I can only describe it as riveting. I’ll bet Glenn Simpson lost some sleep over some of this stuff when he realized what the hell was happening. A lot of the info that he uncovered was public record. Public information gathering is his area of expertise. A good reporter could have uncovered most of this info too, if they’d bothered to stop yapping about HRC’s emails.
