US Embassy in London just issued a statement essentially correcting Trump's tweet

The embassy statement makes it very clear that the move was about security and was planned before President Obama took office. Which shoots down Trump's complaint about the embassy, which was his excuse for canceling his trip to London when he couldn't admit he was too chicken to go and face protests.
