These republican senators coming out three and four days later with stories shifting from "I didn't hear it" to "He didn't say it" are liars and need to be labeled as such. They are smearing Sen. Durbin and Sen. Graham, as well as Sen. Flake who was immediately told of the president's words.
It doesn't seem to me that anyone in the media believes their denials.
For these republican senators, the end justifies the means and they don't give a damn how it damages our democracy.
They are frauds and they betray the republic they name themselves after.

(25,219 posts)One Dem (Durbin) and six Repugs.
Durbin was sandbagged right from the start. I believe he thought it was only going to be Graham and himself that were going to meet with Trump. When he walked into the room - 5 other Repugs were there.
From the start - the MO was to gang up on Durbin and the Dems.
So - you tell me who heard what in that room and who said what in that room.
Durbin isn't lying about Trump's words. I just can't and still don't understand why the Repugs always circle the wagons around Trump and protect him.
I still say back in Nov 2016 we experienced a coup d'etat - and what we are witnessing every day since is the results of that.
The Repugs were in on this from the beginning.
