Dem senator: 'No question' Trump's 's---hole countries' comment is racist

http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/368962-bennett-theres-no-question-trumps-shithole-countries-comment-is-racist

Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) in a Sunday show interview stopped short of calling President Trump a racist, but said “there’s no question” that the president’s reported “shithole countries” comment is racist.

“I was raised not to call people racist on the theory that it was hard for them to be rehabilitated once you said that,” Bennet told NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

“But there’s no question what he said was racist. There’s no question what he said was un-American and completely unmoored from the facts.”

Trump has faced intense scrutiny and accusations of racism after The Washington Post reported that Trump disparaged several nations during a Thursday meeting with lawmakers at the White House.

Why are we being treated to all these Democrats announcing that calling countries in Africa "shitholes" is racist? And then some gems like this guy refusing to say that using such language indicates that the speaker is a racist. Who in hell besides a racist says things like this? I'm fed up with these "courageous" outspoken Dems pussyfooting around the racist label, and afaic it isn't news unless a Republican grows a pair and denounces this language--and its speaker--for what they are.

Furthermore, who in hell doesn't grow up learning that there are things you don't say aloud, no matter what you think? Calling names based on physical characteristics--whether it's race or a physical infirmity or an unflattering dress--is not acceptable adult behavior, and doing so indicates that the speaker either wasn't brought up by civilized people or is too stupid to have learned that lesson early on. Please note that I am not making light of racist thoughts but talking about basic good manners in all arenas of life.
