54 African nations, or is it 57?, were in our pocket before this.

This is, of course, a great boon for China. Or curse. China has huge problems at home, so its investments in Africa really need to pay off for China--called exploitation and greatly resented when western nations take home more in profits than we invest.

There's already strife between Chinese brought in to work and nativist factions. Of course, hard-core conservatives, no matter where they come from, regard others with suspicion and even hostility, and typically feel entitled to abuse those they see as inferiors, so further constant problems of that sort are guaranteed. History will tell.

And has a military presence there as well.
They want to corner the market on African raw materials
and expand their political power.
