The latest Manafort/Gates court appearance is over. A lot of things happened, I'm going to break them down into pieces: First, no trial date yet. They're not as far along with discovery and motions as the judge thought they'd be by now, so judge said a May date is unlikely.

Defense counsel also has a say in what is a reasonable court date.

Most often, it is the defense seeking additional time to obtain and review discovery. But what has happened here is mundane and routine.

All that shit coming up just before the elections will definitely affect the elections.
Manafort is already a sleaze who is hard put to find anyone who could possibly like him so when the trial brings out his putrid underbelly no one will be able to look away. The disgust will be reflected in the elections.
