Moving the Goalposts on immigration
I'm a bit frustrated. The talking heads don't seem to have noticed that the GOP has moved the goalposts. For years we've heard about how we have to deal with illegal immigration. We weren't supposed to do anything until we had "secured the borders". Now, when we're trying to deal with DACA, suddenly illegal immigration isn't enough. Now they also want a deal on LEGAL immigration. Suddenly we're hearing about "chain migration". Now we can't do anything until they get a deal on changing legal migration, not just securing the borders.

When Durbin and H+Graham were invited to the white house to show cheeto the BIPARTISAN bill they were surprised to see the hardliners already there.
Apparently John Kelly had also advised cheeto against the deal.
