it strikes me as strange that every other Republican candidate didn't scream bloody murder about Trump's unwillingness to release his tax/financial records. Name of the game has always been exposing your opponents greatest weaknesses, yet none went there....why?
If I am not mistaken, a lot of Russian money was flowing directly into the various Republican PACs in 2016. Was there a understanding between all candidates that Trump's finances was an "out of bounds" topic of debate?
The RNC wants to model the new USA after Putin's new Russia: "Crime Lord and One Party" State. And Putin's money is making that dream come true.

(6,376 posts)All they cared about was "build the wall" and "repeal obamacare" and "make america great again". They couldn't care less about his tax returns. Probably the vast majority of them wouldn't even care if they knew Russia helped him win, just so long as he was in office.

(37,158 posts)Maybe there was Ruskie money or maybe not, but they -- mainstream "reasonable" Republicans -- had already established that they didn't consider it important to give anything approaching reasonable accounting of their candidate's finances.

(10,121 posts)If you recall, he promised them until the end and then just didn't because there is no actual requirement to do so and claimed he was under audit. That's good enough for any trump fan.
